The Padre Pio Prayer Group of the San Gabriel Pastoral Region was established May 21, 2024 with the permission of His Most Reverend Brian Nunes, Auxiliary Bishop, San Gabriel Pastoral Region, and the approval of Centro Internazionale Gruppi de Preghiera di San Pio da Pietrelcina. Its Spiritual Director is Father Brian Vincenzo Guerrini, SS.CC.
Following the guidelines of the International Association of Prayer Groups, the Padre Pio Prayer Group focuses on the mission and teachings of Saint Pio. Its mission and purpose is to:
*Encourage participation in the Mass
*Encourage participation in Reconciliation
*Encourage participation in charitable acts
*Encourage acts of reparation and penance for the healing of others
*Follow the teachings and faith of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina
It desires to be a spiritual resource and intercessory body for its members, clergy and the church "offering God the most beautiful, the most noble of prayers because our prayers will have sprung from sacrifice."
PADRE PIO PRAYER GROUP GOALS
*Live the spirituality of St. Padre Pio
“Sanctify yourself, and sanctify others."
-St. Padre Pio
*Live the Redemptive Life
“You are not living for yourself, but for souls, and other souls will profit from your sufferings. Your prolonged suffering will give them the light and strength to accept My will."
-Jesus to St. Faustina
*Make reparation for the world, the church and family
“For a long time, I have felt in myself a need to offer myself to the LORD as a victim for poor sinners and for the souls of Purgatory. This desire has been growing continually in my heart so that it has now become what I would call a strong passion…, imploring on Him to lay on me the punishments prepared for sinners and for souls in Purgatory so long as He converts and saves sinners and quickly releases the souls in Purgatory. It seems to me Jesus wants this.”
-St. Padre Pio
*Answer Our Lady of Fatima’s call
“Pray, pray very much; and make sacrifice for sinners. Many souls are lost, because there are none to make sacrifices for them."
-Our Lady of Fatima
*Assist its members to live out these goals
“If I know a person is afflicted, whether in body or in soul, what I would not do for the LORD to see that person freed from his ailments? For his salvation I would willingly take on all his afflictions, if the LORD permitted, I would give up the fruits of these sufferings for him.”
-St. Padre Pio
